The former Russian ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, has affirmed that the presence of US occupation forces and terrorist groups will not last in Syria.
Zasypkin said that the Americans will withdraw from Syria and Iraq after the failure of their plans, just as they withdrew from Afghanistan.
During a press conference recently held via video, Zaspkin reiterated the failure of the unjust Western policies towards Syria to achieve their goals.
On the other hand, Zasypkin stressed that Western countries have become aware that the unilateral coercive economic measures being imposed on Syria have failed to achieve what they failed to achieve through military ways and terrorism.
Zasypkin said: “The war waged by the West against Syria has failed and Syria will not succumb to pressures.”
For his part, the deputy head of the Association of Russian Diplomats, former ambassador Andrei Baklanov, criticized in a statement the double standards adopted by the West towards Syria.
Baklanov said that Americans and their Western allies continue to impose coercive economic measures on the Syrian people, while at the same time they lament their living suffering resulting from those measures.
Baklanov pointed out that the Americans and Turks continue to interfere in Syria’s internal affairs and politicize the issue of humanitarian aid , as well as their continued occupation of parts of the Syrian territories.
