Algeria withdraws accreditation of Al Arabiya TV news channel over practicing misinformation

The Algerian Ministry of Communication on Saturday withdrew the accreditation granted to the office of the international Arabic television news channel “Al Arabiya” in Algiers.

The ministry said in a statement to the Algerian Press Service (APS) that the decision to withdraw the accreditation was due to this channel’s misinformation policy and disrespect for the rules of media ethics.

“Al Arabiya TV” was among many other channels that practiced media disinformation to mislead the public opinion by falsifying facts and fabricating news and videos while covering events in several countries of the region over the past years, especially in Syria, in order to serve the interests of colonialist powers.
