Al-Miqdad : Syrian-Iranian relations have become an example to be followed in all fields

DAMASCUS, (ST)_ The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government Faisal Al-Miqdad received on Thursday Vahid Jalalzadeh, Head of the Commission of National Security and Foreign Policy in the Iranian Shoura Council . 
 
The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Syria and Iran and the ways of developing these relations to in all fields to face challenges. 
 
Al-Miqdad referred to the Syrians’ pride in the key role played by Iran in supporting Syria’s resistance and enhancing its capabilities to confront the terrorist war that has been imposed on it, asserting  that the Syrian-Iranian relations have become an example to be followed in all fields.
 
He reiterated Syria’s support for Iran to confront all attempts to undermine its achievements since the victory of the Islamic Iranian Revolution, expressing the Syrians’ confidence in Iran’s ability to overcome the imposed difficulties economically, as well as supporting its stances and policies regarding the nuclear file, according to the Syrian News Agencies (SANA). 
 
For his part, Jalalzadeh pointed out that relations between Syria and Iran date back to years before the war on Syria, and that these relations have always been based on cooperation, coordination and exchanging support in various fields.
 
 He added that the exchange of visits and coordination between the Shura Council and the People’s Assembly has a major role in boosting this cooperation and upgrading the level of relations between the two countries.
 
In a press statement following the meeting , Jalalzadeh  described the meetings with the Syrian officials as constructive that aim to push relations forwards, expand economic and trade cooperation, contribute to rebuilding  and activating agreements between the two countries .
