Engineer Arnous: It is necessary to create a company to produce renewable energies to secure full electric power for the industrial cities

Homs (ST): Prime Minister in the caretaker government Engineer Hussein Arnous underlined the importance of creating a company to produce renewable energies with government support, while chairing an expanded meeting with the administration of the industrial city of Hasya in Homs and its industrialists, with the aim of securing full electric power for industrial cities and keeping pace with the best technologies in the world in this field.

Engineer Arnous referred to the importance of securing electricity from renewable energies in Syria to compensate for the shortage of electrical energy resulting from the unjust economic siege, calling for direct investment in the renewable energy sector, expressing his hope that next September the equipment will be installed for the project that has been launched. He pointed out that renewable energy projects are not allowed to expand on arable lands in light of the availability of large areas for the establishment of these projects.

The Prime Minister expressed the government’s readiness to provide all facilities for these projects, including the issue of loans, as an expanded meeting will soon be held for all public and private banks to lay the foundations for controlling the process of granting loans in terms of progress and completion of work in investment projects, pointing to the full readiness to secure all requirements of investors, especially the issue of export in the interest of the state and producers.

Engineer Arnous affirmed the need to study the most appropriate options for the establishment of labor housing in Hasya Industrial City, as it is a city full of social life, education, health and others, underlining the importance of securing labor housing for workers in the industrial city, providing infrastructure and services, achieving stability for workers, and concerting all public and private efforts to achieve economic and social advancement.

During the meeting, it was agreed to establish a company for the production of renewable energy in Hasya Industrial City.

Director of Hasya Industrial City, Bassam Mansour, indicated that the project will see the light within months, and the land has been allocated from this moment to the company formed to generate electricity from solar energy, noting that sites have been allocated for the completion of labor housing in Hasya.
