Al-Miqdad receives message from Yi

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government Faisal Al-Miqdad received on Monday a message from the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, in which he extended his congratulations and good wishes on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the People’s Republic of China.
 
Yi stressed that China and Syria share a traditional friendship, and they both support the defense of the basic rules governing international relations, including the principle of non-intervention in the domestic affairs of countries.
 
He affirmed his country’s firm support to Syria’s efforts to preserve its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, adding that China will go ahead with offering help to Syria in the fields of fighting Covid-19 pandemic and reconstruction process.
 
The Chinese minister concluded his message by expressing readiness to exert joint efforts with the Syrian side to continue consolidating the traditional friendship between the two countries and towards the continuous development of Syrian- Chinese relations, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
