Syria reiterates Israel’s repeated terrorist attacks will never prevent Syrian army from fighting terrorist groups

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates says that Israeli terrorist attacks on Syrian territories will neither protect terrorist organizations, including Al-Nusra Front, ISIS and the White Helmets, nor will they prevent the Syrian Army from fighting the terrorists and their sponsors.

It said in a statement issued on Tuesday: “ Within the framework of their systematic policy based on practicing terrorism and offering support to armed terrorist groups, Israeli occupation authorities carried out at 23.37pm on Monday [July 19, 2021] a missile attack on Safira area in the southeast of Aleppo province violating UN resolutions.”

The statement added that the Israeli attack coincided with missile attacks carried out by Al-Nusra Front terrorists on some areas in Aleppo and the north of Hama province from their hideouts in Idlib, which they control as a result of support and funding provided by the US and the Turkish occupation forces to Al-Nusra Front and other armed terrorist organizations linked to Israel.

It reiterated that the Syrian Arab Republic warns Israel of the serious repercussions of its repeated attacks under false pretexts , of its continuous support to armed terrorist groups and of its continued occupation of Arab lands , including the Occupied Syrian Golan assuming Israel the full responsibility for that.

The statement conclude by calling on the Security Council to fulfill its obligations within the framework of the UN Charter ,to preserve international peace and security, condemn the blatant Israeli attacks , and take firm and immediate measures to prevent these repeated attack and to hold Israel accountable for its terrorism and crimes against the Syrian people.
