Havana (ST): Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel stressed that the demonstrations taking place in some regions are an attempt to create chaos and instability in the country.
Canel said in a televised speech today: “In Cuba, they do not want the welfare of the people, but the privatization of health and education and the application of neoliberalism” noting that inciting this kind of chaos in exceptional circumstances of the Corona pandemic is a greedy and unjustified act.
Canel pointed out that the government has every will to dialogue about the real causes of the conditions facing the country, and said, “We will not allow any counter-revolutionary person who receives money from American agencies to cause instability in the country.”
Canel called on Cubans to take to the streets to counter US-backed attempts to destabilize the country.
He also denounced the American embargo imposed on his country, calling on Washington to lift it if it really cares about the interests of the Cuban people.
