Prime Minister puts into service the water canal project from the Daba’a area towards the city of Homs
Homs (ST): Prime Minister, Eng. Hussein Arnous, put the water canal project from the Daba’a area towards the city of Homs into service today, during his tour at the head of a government delegation on services and development projects in the governorate.
Engineer Hassan Humaidan, Director General of the Public Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Homs, said in a statement that the water canal project from the Daba’a area towards the city of Homs is part of the Upper Al-Assi project to serve the city of Homs, indicating that the canal density is about two cubic meters per second.
He added that the canal is an alternative to the old canal, which is more than fifty years old, and putting it in to service comes to reduce the percentage of waste from the old canal, which will reflect positively on feeding a number of areas, pointing out that the length of the new canal is 24 km and is made of reinforced concrete.
The Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Eng. Hussein Makhlouf and Water Resources, Dr. Tammam Ra’ad, participated in the tour.
