Syrpetro exhibition brings together experts and the latest technologies used in the oil industries

Damascus (ST): The Syria International Petroleum and Gas Exhibition (Syrpetro), whose second edition was launched on the grounds of the fairground, brings together a group of specialists and experts in the oil industries sector and its services at the local, regional and international levels.

The head of the Iraqi delegation participating in the exhibition, Ala’a Al-Nouri, a member of the Baghdad Chamber of Commerce Council, said in a statement: “Iraq is participating in the exhibition through an official delegation representing the Iraqi Chambers of Commerce and a group of businessmen investing in the oil and gas sector, expressing his hope that joint contracts will be conducted between the two countries during the next two days of the exhibition.

The head of the Iraqi  Economy Development Center, Ali Nima Al-Halfi, pointed out that the aim of the participation is to break the economic siege imposed on Syria, and said, “We have common denominators with the Syrian side in order to develop industries in the oil sector.”

From Belarus, Dmitry Drachev, Technical Director of the Belarusian Petro Service Company, said that their participation aims to establish partnerships and sign agreements with Syria to work together in this field.

From Iran, Iraj Alamdari, head of exports at Shiraz Petrochemical Company indicated that the goal of participation is to develop Iranian relations with Syria for the better and to establish joint projects that will benefit the peoples of both countries.
