Missiles target the Green Zone in Baghdad and the US embassy sounds its sirens

 On July 8th, the Security Media Cell in Iraq announced the targeting of the Green Zone in central Baghdad, where the US embassy is located, with a missile attack last night.

“Last night, the Green Zone was targeted by three Katyusha rockets.The rockets landed in different locations in the region,” the Iraqi News Agency quoted the cell as saying in a statement.

 

In turn, a security source reported that sirens were sounded at the US embassy in central Baghdad, indicating that a missile landed near the vicinity of the embassy.

On July 7th, a missile attack targeted the US wing at the Ain Al-Assad base in the Governorateof Al-Anbar, western Iraq.
