Palestinian prisoner Abu Atwan enters his 64th day of hunger strike
The Palestinian prisoner in the Israeli jails Al-Ghadanfar Abu Atawan on Wednesday continued his hunger strike for the 64th consecutive day and refrained from drinking water for the fourth day in a row in protest against his unfair detention without charge or trial and against the occupation’s aggressive and oppressive practices towards the Palestinian prisoners.
WAFA news agency reported that Abu Atwan’s health condition is deteriorating dangerously and that he is experiencing a health set back that may lead to his sudden death, or at least cause paralysis or a chronic health problem.
Last Sunday, Abu Atwan sent a message to freedom-loving peoples of the world calling on them to interfere to save his life in the light of the occupation authorities’ intransigence and refusal to release him.
“I lost my health, my life is vanishing in front of my eyes and the occupation is applying a slow death policy on me. Save my life,” he said in his message.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club has warned that Abu Atwan’s health condition is deteriorating continuously as he is suffering from a severe deficiency in the amount of fluid in the body that endangers the functions of the vital organs in his body. It urged the international community to pressure the occupation in order to immediately release the prisoner before it is too late.
