Chernyakov: International Commission’s reports on human rights in Syria ignore International Law’s principles
Representative of the Russian delegation, who is participating in the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Artur Chernyakov, affirmed on Tuesday that the reports of the so-called independent international commission of inquiry into human rights violations in Syria ignore the Syrian government’s efforts to overcome the crisis and they distort the situation in Syria.
Chernyakov said- during the 47th session of the Human Rights Council currently taking place in Geneva- that the events in Syria have been completely distorted by the committee, whose reports do not refer to the heinous acts of terrorists and their sponsor.
The reports described the Syrian government efforts to fight against terrorism as “a major factor of destabilization, the Russian diplomat added, asserting that Moscow is fully confident that such biased conclusions delay any aspects for achieving peace in Syria.
