Five wells put into service in the liberated countryside of Idlib

Five wells were put into service in the liberated countryside of Syria’s Idlib after years of having stopped because of terrorist groups’ vandalism, the Drinking Water Establishment in Idlib said on Wednesday.

The aim is to provide the locals, who returned to the liberated villages, with their needs of potable water, Director of the establishment Mohammad Al-Ajami said in a statement to SANA.

He added that the terrorist groups vandalized the wells during their terrorist activities in Idlib countryside within the framework of their attempts to destroy the infrastructure of the Syrian cities and villages and to prevent the population from benefiting from drinking water sources.

He pointed out that the depth of these wells, which were rehabilitated by the establishment’s technical teams, exceeds 300 meters and they are located in the areas of Sinjar, al-Tah, Maar Dibsah and Ma’aret al-Numan to supply these areas with drinking water.
