Hasakeh: Measures taken to alleviate the effects of water cuts due to the attacks of the Turkish occupation and the SDF militia

Hasakeh (ST): Hasakeh Governorate has taken a set of necessary measures  to mitigate the effects of the crime of cutting off water for the people of Hasakeh city by the Turkish occupier and its terrorist mercenaries and the US-backed SDF militia.

A member of the Executive Bureau for the Services and Utilities Sector, Hassan Al-Shamhoud, said in a statement to news reporter that a committee was formed to follow up on the reality of water and its security for the people, indicating that it will work to increase the quantities of drinking water that are secured through tankers to citizens free of charge within the city of Hasakeh and increase the number of water tanks.

Al-Shamhoud pointed out that today, 5 water tanks will be operated in cooperation with a number of international organizations, each tank with a capacity of 125 barrels, which will distribute water within the city center and neighborhoods, while continuing to provide water through the tanks and filling them more than once a day, in addition to running 3 water tanks provided by Hasakeh City Council.

For the same purpose, an agreement was reached  with the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to secure 60 additional water tanks, and to cooperate with a number of charities and civil activities to launch an initiative starting from Thursday, during which 5 water tanks with a capacity of 90 barrels each will be operated to secure 10,000 gallon of 25 liters of water for distribution to citizens, in addition to providing water sterilization pills.
