Damascus, (ST) – Participants in the meeting of the permanent office of the Arab Lawyers Union in its first session for the year 2021, held in Damascus, called for lifting the unjust siege on the Syrian people. They stressed Syria’s right to pursue all means to eliminate terrorism and terrorists and liberate all of its occupied lands.
In their final statement, the participants in the meeting condemned the colonial states’ targeting of any part of the Syrian territory and their support of terrorist gangs. The participants called on the international community to pressure those occupying countries and force them to withdraw from Syrian lands.
The statement also condemned the major crimes committed by the Turkish regime-crimes which have been going on for a year, by cutting off drinking water from 1.5 million Syrians living in the province of Al-Hasakah. It also condemned the Turkish regime’s cutting off water to Iraq and Syria, describing this as a crime against humanity and that is added to its crimes and in violation of international laws.
The statement affirmed that the permanent office supports Syria’s right to follow all means to eliminate terrorism and terrorists and what remains of its remnants on Syrian lands. It stressed Syria’s right to restore its occupied lands, foremost of which is the occupied Golan.
The Permanent Office, in its statement, called for lifting the unjust siege on Syria, calling on Arab governments to reject the so-called “Caesar Act” which has imposed on Syria. It also demanded from the Arab League that it return Syria to its natural seat in the League
The statement pointed out that Syria’s victory over the aggression came as a result of the solidarity of the people and the army.This constitutes a bright point of the Arab struggle against colonialism and its supporters. It said that, the right path for the Arab nation is joint action, developing Arab-Arab relations and working towards Arab economic, political and military integration.
The statement stressed that the Palestinian cause is the first, main and central issue of the Arabs. It pointed out that the major crimes that the Palestinian people are subjected to under occupation are committed by Zionist gangs with the aim of liquidating the Palestinian cause and breaking the will of its people.
In its statement, the Permanent Office reiterated that the Palestinian resistance in all its forms is the only way to liberate Palestine and that Palestinian reconciliation is a sacred duty on the right path to recover Palestine. It called on the Arab governments to sever their relations with the Zionist entity and expel its ambassadors from Arab capitals.
The statement condemned the recent Zionist aggression on Gaza, which is a crime against humanity and in violation of international laws.
The office’s statement said that the stability of Iraq depends on keeping it away from sectarian conflicts that target the Iraqi national identity, which the Iraqi people are keen on. It called on the Iraqi people to unite and renounce the conflicts resulting from its occupation.
On Lebanon, the Permanent Office clarified in its statement that the siege of the Lebanese people, the attack on the port of Beirut, and the ongoing Israeli terrorist operations against Lebanon and its institutions are the result of the American Zionist will to subjugate the Lebanese people and force them to sign the normalization agreement with the Zionist entity.
On Tunisia, the statement called for avoiding all differences and sitting at the dialogue table between the three presidents and establishing constitutional institutions to get out of the stifling crisis.
The statement affirmed the full permanent office of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Sudan in their inalienable right as two countries to the waters of the Nile River in accordance with the international law regulating international rivers and the international agreements signed in this regard.
The statement of the Permanent Office affirmed the unity of the brotherly Yemen, a united state of people, leadership and an end to the ongoing conflict, and the demand for dialogue among the people of Yemen instead of the fighting fueled by the enemies of Yemen.
The statement also affirmed the territorial integrity of Morocco and rejected the Spanish occupation of the islands of Ceuta, Melilla and the rest of the Moroccan islands. It demanded Spain evacuate these islands .Diplomatic and legal measures should be taken to achieve this. The statement also calls for the opening of the borders between Algeria and Morocco.
