Washington: We recognize Ansaruallah movement as a legitimate party in Yemen

Washington (ST): The US special envoy to Yemen, Tim Linderking, announced his country’s recognition of the Ansaruallah movement as a legitimate party in Yemen.

Reuters quoted Linderking as saying during a discussion organized by the National Council on American-Arab Relations that the United States recognizes the Ansaruallah movement as a legitimate party in Yemen, expressing his hope for a ceasefire between the Saudi-led coalition and Ansaruallah movement to alleviate the crisis.

Commenting on Linderking’s statements, a member of Ansaruallah’s Political Bureau, Yasser al-Houri, said that the statement of the American envoy is an implicit recognition that America is behind the war on Yemen, adding that the field’s achievements are what forced the Americans to recognize the movement as a legitimate party.

In a televised interview, Al-Houri stressed that Ansaruallah and all the steadfast national forces in the face of aggression derive their legitimacy from the field and the Yemeni people, with whom they defend, side by side, the sovereignty and independence of Yemen.
