New York, (ST) – The United Nations General Assembly, by an overwhelming majority, renewed its demand for an end to the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America on Cuba.
184 countries voted in favor of the resolution, three countries abstained, while the United States and the Israeli occupation entity voted against this resolution.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described in a tweet the results of the vote as “a great victory for the Cuban people, for justice and for truth.” He said that, “once again the world expresses its rejection of the aggression and failed policies of the United States against Cuba.”
Cuba has been subjected to an unjust economic embargo imposed by the United States for nearly 60 years due to its policies rejecting the attempts of American exclusivity and hegemony.
