Al-Hasakah(ST) –  Head of Al-HasakahAntiquities Department Khaled Ahmo said that,an armed group carried out illegitimate excavations in archaeological sites of Tal Abu Bakr and Rajman in areas controlled by SDFmilitia in the vicinity of Al-Hasakah city.

In a statement to SANA, Ahmo indicated that an armed group has been carrying out excavations for two days at the archaeological sites of Tal Abu Bakr and Rajman in the vicinity of Al-Hasakahcity, which were previously exposed to excavations and theft.

Ahmo warned of dangers of SDF militia and other armed groups continuous acts of excavations searching for antiquities to be smuggled outside the Syrian territories through border crossings controlled by the US and Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries.

Local sources in Al-Falah village near the two archeological sites, said that the armed group carries out excavations without anyone being able to approach the site, particularly since the area is completely controlled by the SDF militia.

The locals pointed out that the excavation work has taken place in conjunction with the flight of helicopters of the American occupation forces in the airspace of the area.

Archaeological sites in the eastern region were robbed by terrorist groups during the years of aggression against Syria, as they were transferred to northern Iraq and Turkey and sold or moved to unknown places with the knowledge of the American occupation forces
