Four young artists show various experiences in an exhibition in Damascus

The National Center for Visual Arts has hosted a collective exhibition for  four young artists, who have presented both their visions and thoughts in their works.

The exhibition, which gathered the experiences of the following artists: Samar Daoud, Suleiman Al-QusiHussam Serghaya and Emile Aflak, was the result of a workshop that was hosted by the Center to show different topics, ideas and methods, in addition to encourage artists to be creative. 

 Dr. Ghiath al-Akhras, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center stressed that the center’s main goal is to support young talents, children and young adults,. He referred to the importance of the exhibition during which young people show various distinguished paintings of different subjects, colors and beauty.

 

 Artist Emile Aflak told Syria Times: “In this exhibition I display 8 paintings under the title “Destination of Impact”, which is an attempt to reflect the reality that we live in all its details including positive and negative sides”.

Samar Daoud, another participant,  who graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2018, declared that her works in the exhibition are a part of a project she worked on under the title “Calendar”. 

“My project reflects life which  is numbers that are controlled  by real characters and events. I use different techniques such as plaster, earth, sand and charcoal with acrylic colors to express different issues,” she added.

For his part, Hussam Sarghaya said: “The exhibition is the result of workshops held by the center… . The paintings  in the exhibition depict the faces..I tried to find myself or what distinguishes me from others.”

He draws  the character as he imagines and sees them. He uses color as a material.

Artist Suleiman Al-Qusi draws sarcastic characters, depicting serious and decisive situations in life.
