China has expressed strong opposition to the interference of the United Nations High Commission for Human Rights in its internal affairs.
“China resolutely opposes the Commission’s statements on Hong Kong and Xinjiang,” Xinhua quoted the spokesperson for the Chinese mission to the United Nations, Liu Yuen, as saying, stressing that it is Beijing’s sovereign right to enact and implement the laws of the People’s Republic of China on safeguarding national security in the Hong Kong Administrative Region.
Liu reiterated that Hong Kong and Xinjiang are inalienable parts of Chinese territory, and their affairs are related to China’s internal affairs.China will not tolerate any interference from outside powers.
