First national series of French language curricula is under printing

The first national series of French language curricula reached the stage of printing to be experimentally available for students in some governorates, after the National Center for the Development of Educational Curricula at the Ministry of Education completed its writing and auditing.

The Director of the Curriculum Development Center, Dr. Nadia Al-Ghazouli, confirmed to SANA that the “Imar”  series has been written for students from the seventh to the third grade of secondary school. The new series will be taught experimentally in the next academic year in some governorates.

Dr. Al-Ghazouli noted that since March of last year, committees of scientific coordinators, specialists and highly qualified teachers have been formed. Work has begun to lay down a national series in the French language parallel to global series without relying on any external expertise.

Head of the French Curriculum Authoring Committee Iman Elbaradei, drew attention to the ministry’s endeavor to develop the objectives and standards for teaching the French language and to find a basis for evaluating any series according to national goals and standards. She confirmed the adoption of the European curriculum, which adopts a methodology for learning and dealing that takes into consideration the four skills: listening, reading and writing in addition to shedding light on grammatical concepts.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Education will launch a national series of the English language curriculum in the next academic year in some governorates as well.
