Palestinian Journalists’ Union: Occupation closure of Palestine TV office is a crime

Occupied Jerusalem (ST): The Palestinian Journalists Union affirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities closed the Palestine TV office and prevented its staff from working in the occupied city of Jerusalem – a new crime added to its crimes against the Palestinian media.

The Union clarified in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, that preventing Palestine TV from working in Jerusalem is a blatant attack on the values and principles of media freedom, pointing out that journalists in the city are subjected to daily attacks by the occupation in order to prevent the transmission of its crimes to the world, especially its crime of isolating Jerusalem neighborhoods from each other and displacing Jerusalemites forcibly from their homes.

The Syndicate pointed out that the occupation has carried out more than 300 attacks against journalists in Jerusalem since last May, stressing that it will continue to work with the International Federation of Journalists and the International Commission of Inquiry set up by the United Nations Human Rights Council to expose the crimes of the occupation and hold those responsible to account.
