Uzbekistan: 14 people arrested for trying to join terrorists in Syria

Tashkent (ST): Security forces in Uzbekistan arrested 14 people who tried to join terrorist organizations in Syria.

The press service of the Ministry of Interior of Uzbekistan stated in today that employees of the Ministry of Interior and the State Security Service arrested 14 people in Samarkand province who fell under the ideological influence of terrorist groups present in Syria and who intended to join their ranks.

According to data from the Uzbek security services, there have been recent attempts by extremist organizations to support and join terrorists in Syria.
