The Military Public Prosecution presents evidence against the United States of preparing and carrying out terrorist attacks in Syria

Damascus (ST): The Military Public Prosecution affirmed that the occupation of large parts of Syrian territory by the United States and its establishment of military bases and airports constitute military aggression according to international law and the UN Charter.

The Public Prosecution indicated in a statement broadcast by Al-Suriya channel that the United States, with its military forces, crossed the borders of the sovereign Syrian Arab Republic and the original and founding member of the UN, occupied large parts of its land and established military bases and military airports in it, which is considered by international law as military aggression and an occupation, far from any justification for the use of force approved by the UN Charter, especially since the United States did not obtain the approval of the Syrian government and was not authorized by the UN Security Council to do so, and it is not in a legitimate defense of self-confrontation with the Syrian state, which contradicts United Nations General Assembly Resolution 3314 of 1974.

The statement added that the United States, “with the help and funding of Western and regional countries, resorted to using agents on the ground, some of them are Syrians who have agreed to work for it, and others are foreigners whom it brought from different parts of the world and trained, armed and financed them to launch their attacks on the Syrian and Russian military and other experts from friendly countries whom the Government had requested they participate in defending its sovereignty and independence in the face of the fierce attack against it.

The statement pointed out that the illegal presence of US armed forces on Syrian territory is a major factor for instability and is impeding the political settlement of the crisis in the country.

It considered that what was recently revealed about US President Joe Biden’s intention to stop the activity of “Delta Chris Energy” in the field of theft and transportation of oil extracted from Syrian territory is conclusive evidence of the US government’s commitment of an unprecedented violation in contemporary international relations.

The statement went on to say that the Military Public Prosecution, as an integral part of the criminal justice system in Syria, has documented, with high professionalism, its findings with irrefutable evidence resulting from careful reconnaissance and investigations carried out by the units and agencies of the Syrian Armed Forces over the past years, which proved beyond any doubt and with clear physical evidence that the United States is selecting large numbers of terrorists, some of whom are ISIS terrorists who were detained in the prisons of pro-Islamic groups and transferring them to the American military base in Al-Tanf.
