With the aim of exchanging experiences in the field of graphics and lithography , Russian artists visited the Fine Arts faculty at Damascus University and were briefed on lithography laboratories and ceremonies at the Graphic Department.
They discussed with the faculty’s professors means of cooperation in the field of graphic design , exchanging expertise and experiences as well as visits in this field.
The Russian artist Kirill Ovchenkov, during his meeting with the students of the graphic department at the faculty, reviewed his artistic experience in the field of graphic design, thermal printing, and how to draw paintings in a classic way on clothes and accessories.
On his part , the artist Ovchenkov expressed in a statement to SANA his admiration for the interest of the Syrian people in all forms of art , expressing his hope that this visit would contribute to increasing communication and cooperation between the Syrian and Russian sides, strengthening joint artistic and cultural ties for the benefit of students and artists of the two countries and developing their expertise.
In turn, Dr. Samir Rahma, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts for Administrative Affairs, pointed out that the visit of the Russian delegation contributes to consolidating cultural and artistic exchange between the two friendly countries and the possibility of holding subsequent joint workshops that enhance the talents and capabilities of artists in both countries.
Dr. Kinda Maarouf, at the Graphic Department in the Fine Arts Faculty stressed the importance of benefiting from the experiences of Russian artists, especially in the field of thermal printing, as it is one of the most important subjects taught to students of the Graphic Department at the faculty.
Dr. Irina Shishkna and Maria Redkina at the Institute of Geography in St. Petersburg expressed their admiration for the work of the students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and their eagerness to learn about Russian artistic experiences. They noted that organizing such meetings enhances joint relations between Syria and Russia and introduces the cultures of the two countries, especially by addressing the younger generation.
This visit comes within a series of joint Syrian-Russian cultural activities that started last week and will continue until the thirteenth of this month with the aim of strengthening cultural exchange relations between the two countries.
