Ukrainian-Syrian Friendship Association: Success of presidential elections in Syria is clear indication of Syrian people’s strong will

The Board of Directors of the Ukrainian-Syrian Friendship Association affirmed that the success of the presidential elections in Syria is an indication of the strong will of the Syrian people and their victory over terrorism thanks to their valiant army.

In a congratulatory cable on the occasion of President Bashar al-Assad’s victory in the presidential elections,  Honorary President of the Assembly, former MP and retired General Damansky Anatoly Ivanevich and correspondent member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Grachev Ileg Alexievich, expressed their support and solidarity with Syria and its people for achieving its unity and sovereignty, especially in the war and global conspiracy by reactionary forces led by the United States.

 

In the cable, they stressed that the constitutional entitlement showed the Syrian people’s constitutional and democratic confidence in the election of President Bashar al-Assad and the validity of the strategies and tactics chosen for the struggle for freedom, peace and stability for Syria. It showed the correctness of the policies and procedures that lead to peace in Syria and the Middle East. They stressed that the Syrian people under the leadership of President Al-Assad are  able to return Syria to its normal state and that Ukraine will continue to do its utmost to boost friendly ties and cooperation with Syria on the basis of mutual respect and friendship.
