Beirut, (ST) – A large fire broke out on Monday in the wheat plains between the two towns of Gaza and Jubb Jenin in the western Bekaaregion in Lebanon. Tens of dunums were targeted by fire and the heavy winds helped spread the flames.
The Lebanese National News Agency said that, the civil defense firefighting teams rushed to the place and worked to contain the fire with the help of the people to put it out and save areas threatened with burning due to the winds.
Another fire also broke out in the town of Beno in Akkar, north Lebanon, where the head of the civil defense center in the town, Talal Ayoub, said that,the center’s teams were able to protect the olive lands in the area and prevent the fire from spreading to electrical towers that feed the main electricity station in Beit Malat
