DAMASCUS, (ST)_People’s Assembly [Parliament] approved on Tuesday a draft law on certifying an agreement on the mutual exemption from visa to holders of diplomatic, special and service passports with Oman and it became a law.
“The draft law comes within the efforts exerted to boost Syria’s active role in the Arab region and the world despite the coercive, unilateral measures being imposed by western powers against Syria,” Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad said in a speech before the parliament.
The Minister affirmed the importance of the achievements made by Syria against the western schemes, mainly the Syrian people’s turnout to the ballot boxes and their participation in the presidential election, adding this achievement has dealt a blow to the western powers.
“The law related to certifying the agreement with Oman is considered as an excellent and welcomed step to facilitate the visits of the two countries by the categories enlisted in the law,” Mikdad said in a press statement.
He expressed Syria’s aspiration to apply that mutual visa exemption with all Arab states.
