Two Russian planes bring humanitarian relief touched down in Lattakia

LATTAKIA,(ST)-Russian Emergency Situations Ministry planes have brought humanitarian aid to the Bassel Airport in  Latakia, ministry spokesperson Irina Rossius told Interfax.

“The Ilyushin Il-62 and Il-76 jets of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry carrying humanitarian aid have touched down in Syria.

“The  humanitarian aid  includes food and four electric power plants, have flown out to Syria. The cargo weighs 24 tonnes,” she said.

Ahmad Sheikh Abdul Qader, the Lattakia governor, extended thanks to Russia for its firm stance as regards standing by the Syrians in confrontation with the global terrorism.
