Kosachev: EU stance towards presidential elections in Syria is a clear intervention in domestic affairs

MOSCOW, (ST)_ Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev declared on Thursday that the European Union’s stance towards the Syrian presidential elections which were held yesterday represents a clear intervention in the domestic affairs of the country.
 
“Any evaluations that will be issued by the EU after the election process in Syria are null and void as the EU had evaluated the election even before it was held,” Kosachev told Sputnik in an interview.
 
He added that such a stance adopted by the EU is considered as an unacceptable intervention in the domestic affairs of Syria during a very crucial stage.
