Homs, (ST) – After suffering from displacement and destruction as a result of terrorism and being deprived of their constitutional right in the previous presidential elections in 2014, the people of Baba Amro neighborhood in the city of Homs expressed their happiness with the conduction of the presidential elections and their free and democratic participation in an atmosphere of safety and security.
Early in the morning, the people of the neighborhood flocked to the electoral centers to choose who represents them as an expression of national solidarity and a brighter future.
Abdul Rahman Al-Hawlani, head of the Hassan Bin Thabit electoral Center, affirmed to SANA that, the turnout at the electoral Centers in the neighborhood was intense since the early hours of the morning, as the people flocked to cast their votes for the candidate who represents them and express their will after the return of many neighborhood residents to their homes destroyed by terrorism. He indicted that, the electoral process is proceeding in a free, democratic and comfortable atmosphere.
Hazar Al-Daqas, a member of the People’s Assembly, said that the people of the neighborhood are flocking to the electoral Centers to express their adherence to their country and their rejection of all forms of terrorism that displaced them and destroyed their homes.
“I could not exercise my electoral right in 2014 because of the difficult conditions we went through and we were displaced from our homes by terrorists,” the housewife, Mayada Haddad said. She added that, after security and safety returned to the neighborhood, we returned to exercise our constitutional right to elect who represents us.”
