Last week, “Damascus Opera House” in Damascus hosted a play entitled “The Knights of Tenses” which was written and directed by the artist Mamdouh Al-Kaffri.
Al-Kafri has previously presented several shows, such as (The Land of Prepositions, Punctuation Marks), which were characterized by creativity and visual dazzle. Teenager, children, boys, and girls played roles in his shows.
The theme of the play is about knights who save the world from evil and spread goodness and love. “People are living in an island and have asked for help, so the knights come and save the island with the aim of spreading goodness and eliminating evil.”
The director used grammar tenses as characters to simplify grammar to audiences and to encourage them to love it.
In response to a question about how he got the idea, Al-Kafri told the Syria Times: “It is a very long story; it doesn’t start here. It has been in my heart for ages”.
“English tenses are never boring grammar points in my life as everyone sees them .They are my brothers and sisters. I have ‘ been known as Mr. Present Perfect for more than 20 years because I like grammar” he said.
Actor Nizar Sanadiki participated in the show. For the third time he played the role of simple past.
It is an interesting experience for him, despite the fact that it was not easy.

Naya sees that participating in this show will increase her experience.
While actress Mariam Areeda played the role of future prefect continuous. Mariam was happy to participate for the first time in this show.
