On May 26th, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the mutated strain of the Coronavirus that was discovered in India was officially detected in 53 new areas.
Agence France-Presse (AFP) quoted the Organization as saying in a report that this brings the total number of areas where this strain was detected to 60.
WHO had confirmed earlier that the currently available and approved vaccines are effective against all Coronavirus mutants, but at the same time it called for continuing to move cautiously in the face of the virus.
