The occupation’s violations against the Palestinians are crimes that must be questioned, says Mansour
New York, (ST) – The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, demanded that international community implement its obligations and provide protection for the Palestinian people and the holy sites in occupied Palestine, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Wafa News Agency reported that, Mansour affirmed in letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly that, the continuous attacks and violations of the Israeli occupation and its settlers against the Palestinians and the holy places in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), including Al-Aqsa Mosque are war crimes against humanity that require accountability.
Mansour stressed the need to put Security Council, General Assembly and Human Rights Council resolutions into actions and hold the occupation accountable for its crimes against the Palestinians, their land and their holy sites. He pointed out to, the martyrdom of more than 250 Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, including Al-Quds (Jerusalem). Among the Palestinian martyrs there are more than 70 children.
Mansour said that, in addition to the stifling blockade of the Gaza Strip that has continued for 14 years, the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza destroyed thousands homes and commercial establishments and displaced more than 100,000 Palestinians.
The Israeli aggression also targeted the water infrastructure and sewage and power networks, in addition to the damage to dozens of hospitals and health care centers, including the only laboratory (Covid 19) in Gaza, and dozens of educational facilities.
