The Arab Cultural Center in Mazzeh district in Damascus has organized a collective exhibition for young talents entitled “Creativity of youth”.
The exhibition, which will last until tomorrow, was opened by the Deputy Director of Culture in Damascus, Professor Manal Nassar, and the director of the Arab Cultural Center in Mazzeh, Mrs. Dima Amr.
Some 24 young artists from the House of Arabic Calligraphy and Arts Association of Oriental Art Gallery are displaying their work- 66 wonderful artistic paintings supervised by artist Reem Kabtan.
The themes of the works focus on the silent nature, landscapes, realism, symbolism, and Arabic calligraphy
Reem Kabtan the supervisor of the exhibition told Syria Times: “The works in this exhibition are made by students of the association which was newly established. The exhibition includes various painting techniques such as drawing with lead and charcoal in watercolor, acrylic, and oil.”
“The aim of holding this event is to encourage the young students and to develop their talents and provide facilities that allow them to show and develop their creativity,” she added.
Rama Jokhadar, a participant in the exhibition, displayed six paintings using acrylic colors that depict the beauty of nature.
Rama sees that this exhibition as an opportunity to spread her art.
Zainab Sharaf, another participant, displays three paintings depicting natural landscape and portraits using ink color and acrylic.
Zainab believes that this event make her familiar with others experiences.
While Eman Obeid, who is participating for the first time in the exhibition, shows 2paintings using pencil.
Eman sees that participation in this collective exhibition may develop her talent in drawing and will acquaint others with her work.
