Dr. Shaaban: Lying is the policy of Western media

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Buthaina Shaaban received on Tuesday the delegation of the Iranian Shoura Council, who arrived in Damascus to follow up on the Syrian Presidential elections. 
 
Dr. Shaaban told the delegation  that Syria has suffered throughout history from occupation and colonialism but it was achieving victory every time. She thanked the delegation for coming to follow up on the elections tons to be held tomorrow. 
 
She in addition affirmed that Syrian and Iranian peoples will overcome the difficulties that face them and the two countries will be an example of freedom, pointing out that the war that was waged on Syria was military one accompanied by misleading information circulated by media.
 
Dr. Shaaban added that Palestinian media outlets played a key role in conveying the reality of recent events that took place in the occupied Palestine. 
 
“Lying is the policy of Western and Zionist media to falsify the facts,” the presidential advisor emphasized. 
 
Moreover, Dr. Shaaban  talked about  the role of woman in all sectors in the Arab world. 
 
For her part, the head of the Iranian delegation, Zahra Lahian, who chairs the Human Rights Committee of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Council, said that Syria plays a pivotal role in the region and it remained steadfast in confronting imperialism. 
 
“The West does not care about the reality of events.. It only cares about demonizing the events,” she added, pointing out that the Syria’s initiative of inviting friendly and  brotherly parliaments to follow up on the presidential elections reflects its credibility and honesty . 
 
Lahian expressed her will to increase visits between Syria and Iran in cultural, economic and tourist sectors to enhance political and diplomatic relations.
