Washington supports terrorism in all its forms, says Russian parliamentarian

Moscow, (ST) – Dmitry Sablin, a member of the State Duma, the coordinator of the Russian Parliamentary Group for Relations with the People’s Assembly, affirmed that, Syria had defeated international terrorism and dealt it a devastating blow with the help of its allies. He indicated that, the United States supports terrorism in all its forms and is behind its spread.

Sablin said during a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday, on the occasion of the presentation of a book in Russian entitled “The Crimes of the International Coalition Led by the United States in Syria” that, the presence and the American intervention and the actions of the Western coalition have prolonged the war in Syria.

Sablin denounced the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by Western countries on Syria, saying that, these measures constitute a blatant violation of all principles of international humanitarian law.

A member of the Social Chamber in Russia, Maxim Grigoriev, said that, the Russian public opinion monitors with interest everything that is happening in Syria and is in solidarity with its people. It expressed its condemnation of the crimes of the American and Turkish occupations and the crimes of terrorists and the so-called “White Helmets” and the misinformation practiced by Western countries.

The Syrian ambassador to Russia, Dr. Riad Haddad, emphasized that, the importance of the book is in exposing the lies of the Americans and their allies who claimed to fight terrorism while they were the ones who established the terrorist organizations in Syria. They gave these terrorist organizations political and media cover, and provided them with unlimited financial and military support.

Ambassador Haddad pointed out that after the elimination of the terrorist organization “ISIS” by the Syrian Arab Army, the American occupation continues with its gross violations of human rights in northeastern Syria, stealing natural resources and depriving Syrians of the wealth of their country, and this is the biggest evidence that its goal from the beginning was to try to control Syria and its capabilities.
