New York, (ST) – The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations for Political Affairs Rosemary, DiCarlo affirmed that, the international organization makes all possible efforts to find a peaceful solution to the Palestinian issue.
The UN News website quoted DiCarlo as saying during an event dedicated to parliamentarians’ support for the Palestinian cause that “the international community must do its utmost to find a solution to the Palestinian issue. She called on the Quartet committee to revive the” peace process in the Middle East. “
The head of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Palestinian People’s Inalienable Rights, Sheikh Niang called on the Security Council to assume its responsibilities under the Charter and work to respect its decisions on the Palestinian issue. He said that, the international community has a binding responsibility towards the Palestinian issue until it is resolved from all sides in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions for a just solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of lasting peace and security.
Niang highlighted the role of parliamentarians in raising awareness of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Al-Quds (Jerusalem), and working to integrate the international obligations contained in the relevant United Nations resolutions.
The number of victims of the continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip a few days ago increased to 217 martyrs and more than 1500 wounded, while the occupation forces have continued their attempts to Judaize occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and its aggression against the Palestinians who rejected this scheme.
