Bogdanov and Haddad discuss the latest developments in Syria

Moscow, (ST) – The Special Representative of the Russian President for Middle East and African Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with the Syrian ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Riad Haddad, developments in the situation in Syria and the preparation for the presidential elections.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement to Sputnik on Wednesday that, “during the meeting, an in-depth exchange of views was held on the development of the situation in Syria. The discussions also centered on the preparation process of the presidential elections that will  be held on the twenty-sixth of this month and the presence of Russian and other international observers”.

The statement added that the Russian side renewed its firm support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, and its readiness to continue multifaceted assistance to the Syrian people.
