Education Minister: Syria adopts sustainable development goals in national education’s standards

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Education Minister Darem Tabba’a has affirmed that Syria adopts the collection of 17 sustainable development goals and the implementation of education quality improvement in the standards of national education.

He said that the ministry of education abides by developing life and career skills with the aim of achieving the sustainable development goals to guarantee a better future for the next generations.

“Despite the unjust war on Syria that entered its 10th year and the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the Syrian government worked on rehabilitating damaged schools and developing distance education,” the minister added addressing the participants in the World Conference on Education for sustainable Development, which is being held online by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO under the title “Learn for our planet… work for sustainability.”

Tabba’a concluded by saying that the achievement of stability in the region and respecting international law will help achieve the goals of sustainable development.

The activities of the conference will last until May, 19, 2021.
