New York, (ST) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, (OCHA) affirmed that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip caused the displacement of more than 38,000 Palestinians and displaced more than 2,500 others after their homes were destroyed.
According to the United Nations News Center, OCHA said that the attacks on the Gaza Strip have resulted in hundreds of victims and a large-scale displacement of the people.
The World Food Program stressed that, food is the most humanitarian need at the present time, for people in the Gaza Strip who lost or fled their homes, warning that the closure of Gaza crossings would lead to a scarcity of food commodities.
According to the World Food Program, more than half of the population of Gaza, or about 53 percent of them, live in poverty, while the unemployment rate is 45 percent.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip continues for the eighth day in a row, leaving hundreds of martyrs and injured the majority of whom are children. It also led to the displacement e of many families.
