Baburin: The presidential elections are a sovereign matter for the Syrian people

Moscow (ST): The head of the Russian Committee for Solidarity with the People of Syria and Libya, former Deputy in the State Duma, Sergey Baburin, affirmed that holding presidential elections in Syria is the exclusive and sovereign right of the Syrian people, and no country has the right to interfere in its internal affairs.

Baburin said in an interview with news correspondent in Moscow today that the principle of respecting the sovereignty of states and respecting the right of peoples to decide and determine their future, choose their leaders, their economic pattern and the political and the social structure of their state must be respected by all.

Baburin pointed out that the continuation of the crisis in Syria is a result of American and Western interference in its internal affairs, stressing at the same time that the Syrian people who have defeated international terrorism will dismiss the supporters of “ISIS” and other terrorist organizations.
