Moscow (ST): The Russian capital, Moscow, hosted a solidarity celebration on the occasion of International Jerusalem Day, with the participation of a number of political, parliamentary, diplomatic, social and media figures and representatives of Russian public opinion.
A number of Russian speakers at the ceremony expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people in their struggle for their freedom, independence and adherence to their land, noting that the actions of the Israeli entity under the protection of the United States provoke the most resentment, anger and condemnation.
They said that this entity has continued to commit crimes against the Palestinian people for dozens of years, referring to the recent events in occupied Jerusalem that come as a new witness to its persistence in aggressive actions and heinous crimes.
In his speech, the Syrian ambassador in Moscow, Dr. Riyad Haddad, affirmed that Jerusalem was and will remain the heart of Palestine, which with its meanings and connotations exceeds the Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims tangent to become a humanitarian and moral issue, pointing out that many countries and peoples in various continents of the world celebrated International Day of Jerusalem and this confirms the extent to which it has become a broad issue and the importance of its sanctity for individuals, states, peoples and nations.
Ambassador Haddad stressed that takfiri terrorism is a real risk that threatens all countries of the world without exception, indicating that Syria has been facing this terrorism since 2011 and has been fighting it with the help of allies and friends, especially the Russian Federation and Iran, explaining that the Syrian state has the right to defend its sovereignty and expel any occupation forces on its land.
In turn, the Iranian ambassador to Moscow, Kazem Jalali, affirmed that the Palestinian cause is the main issue in the Middle East, although some countries are trying to delete this issue from the agenda, pointing out that Western countries ignore the massacres against the Palestinians and are not satisfied with the complete silence about that, but rather support the actions of the Israeli enemy by killing children and women without uttering a single word against these crimes against humanity.
On the sidelines of the celebration, a film was shown documenting the crimes of the Israeli entity against the Palestinians since Deir Yassin massacre until now, and an exhibition of paintings was held that talked about its brutal crimes in Palestine and the occupied Syrian Golan, the killing of children and women, and the steadfastness of the heroic prisoners languishing in their prisons.
