On May 9th, Syria condemned in the strongest terms the barbaric and inhuman behavior of the Israeli occupation authorities and settlers towards the Palestinian people and the occupied Palestinian territories.

Syria affirmed the inalienable right of this people to complete freedom and to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories and to establish its independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement that the Israeli occupation authorities and the settlers continue their common sinful aggression against the Palestinian people who are under the clutches of a usurper occupation.

 

The Ministry added that the Israeli occupation does not give weight to international law and the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and does not respect the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the privacy of Muslims’ performance of the rituals of the month of Ramadan.

The Ministry added: “ The settlers and the Israeli occupation authorities stormed the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, and this coincided with other settlers attacking Palestinian citizens in the Sheikh Jarrah, Bab al-Amoud and Silwanneighborhoods and preventing them from performing their religious duty during this blessed month and attacking and robbing them of their homes with sham and unfair decisions.”

The Ministry continued: “ The Syrian Arab Republic, while stressing the importance of preserving and legitimizing the inalienable and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people in accordance with the principles of international law and the decisions of the United Nations related to the Palestinian issue.”

The Ministry said: “The Syrian Arab Republic reaffirms that “Israel”, the government and settlers outside the law, would not have disdained international law to such an unprecedented and aggressive extent were it not for the unlimited American support.” 

The Ministry concluded its statement by saying: “ The Syrian Arab Republic stresses the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to their complete freedom and to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian territories and to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.”
