Marking the Martyrs’ Day … an exhibition of handmade products at the headquarters of the Abkhaz embassy in Damascus

On Martyrs’ Day, the Syrians National Foundation held an exhibition of handmade products at the headquarters of the Abkhaz Embassy in Damascus.

In a statement to SANA, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Syrians Foundation Gansit Kazan explained that the two-day exhibition, which is held this year under the auspices of the Abkhaz embassy in Damascus, displays the products of three mothers of martyrs in the Foundation’s Umm Al-Shaheed workshop.

She pointed out that they organized the exhibition to celebrate the Martyrs’ Day, which is considered a holy day for Syrians, especially after a ten-year war during which the Syrian people sacrificed martyrs in order to preserve the unity of Syria and the dignity of its people.

According to Kazan, the exhibition includes textiles, handmade products, bags, table covers, and cushions that are recycled and manufactured again by the participants. She indicated that the proceeds of the exhibition goes to the martyrs and wounded families, since the target of the Foundation is the Syrian family, especially the families of the martyrs, the wounded and the displaced, as it is now working to organize courses for teaching the art of handicrafts, as well as holding  media and computer courses.

Director of the General Authority for Schools for Martyrs’ Children Shahira Falouh said, “Martyrs’ Day is not just a national day, it is an international day, praising the support and attention provided by the Syrian leadership to the sons and daughters of the martyrs, and affirmed that Syria would not have been survived without the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Temara Lustan, the mother of the martyr Anzor Master, praised the   distinctive handmade products made by mothers of martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the homeland.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by a number of People’s Assembly members, artists and party activities.
