The features of life gradually return to the village of Basimah in the Damascus countryside

About 20 families returned to their homes in Basima village in Wadi Barada in the Damascus countryside after preparing the infrastructure and basic services from the concerned authorities.

Despite the apparent fatigue of his features, Mazen Rifai Abu Hassan, who returned to Basimah at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, cleaned his home with great vigor and said :

“ I have hope that all the people will return in less than a year to their homes in Basima.”

Mukhtar of Basima Mustafa Nasrallah, who was one of the first to return and renovate  a large part of his house, said that the cleaning of homes and streets is proceeding with full support by the governorate through securing the necessary mechanisms.

, Ihsan Mohiuddin Al-Qadrisaid that he is working to rebuild  his house and do everything he can with the participation of the people to make the village better in terms of tourism, economical and agricultural.

While Hossam Emad and Ali Ahmed Ramadan said that they have rebuilt their houses.

On the 13th of last April, the people of Basimah began to return to their homes that were damaged by terrorism to begin rebuilding  and replant their lands.

The head of the local council in Jadidat Al-Wadi, TaysirMawazini said that about twenty families returned, and the number has increased since the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

In January 2017, the Syrian Arab Army announced the return of security and stability to the towns and villages of Wadi Barada in the western countryside of Damascus.
