On May 9th, the World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that it classifies the Indian mutated version of the Covid 19 virus among the list of the more dangerous mutants than the original version of the virus.
“ This classification is due to the greater ability of the Indian mutant to spread and to overcome the defenses provided by vaccines, and that the death rate recorded in patients who contract it is higher than that of patients who develop the original version,” France Press quoted the chief scientist at the organization, Dr. Soumaya Swaminathan, as saying
Swaminathan, an Indian pediatrician and researcher, considered that the mutated version of Corona is one of the factors that led to the spread of the virus at a very rapid rate and out of control in India because it is more contagious and deadly.
Swaminathan added that the mutated version of Corona, which was first discovered in India last October, is more resistant to vaccines compared to the original version of the virus.
