Syrian students in Poland call for lifting sanctions imposed on their homeland

WARSAW, (ST)_ Syrian students in Poland and the Syrian Club have called for lifting the coercive economic measures imposed by Western countries on Syria and cooperating with  the Syrian government in the issue of fighting terrorism.

The National Union of Syrian Students and the Syrian Club sent on Thursday letters to the Senate of Poland, the office of EU and European Commission and the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See affirming that the goal of the siege being imposed on Syria is to seize its independent decision and prevent the people of Syria from their right of living in peace and making progress.

They in addition called for the expulsion of the US and Turkish occupation forces from Syria and the return of diplomatic relations between Syria and the European Union.

The letters pointed out that European countries and the US directly and indirectly supported terrorist groups in Syria, calling on the EU presidency to lift sanctions being imposed on Syria and to respect the sovereignty of the Syrian people.
