Investments in Hassia Industrial City exceed 200 billion Syrian pounds

Homs, (ST) – Hassia Industrial City is rapidly expanding its facilities, to support the national economy. The simplification of procedures for investors has been taken as a starting point for industries that are comparable to global products. After 17 years of Hassia Industrial City inception, it has turned into a major economic and strategic project in the region that contributes to thecomprehensive development process.

Dr. Bassam Al-Mansour, Director of the Industrial City in Hassiasaid in a statement to the SANA that, the volume of investment in Hassia has exceeded 200 billion Syrian pounds since its inception. The Industrial City in Hassia is witnessing a turnout of investors, as Hassia has not stopped despite all the circumstances that the country has gone through. He pointed out that, the past months of this year it registered the entry of 11 new investors, bringing the total number of investors in Hassia to 895 investors in all sectors.

Eng. Petro Salman, Head of the Technical Department in Hassia Industrial Area, indicated that the total investment plan for Hassia’sprojects for the current year amounts to about six billion Syrian pounds. The investment plan includes the implementation of a number of new infrastructure projects and the completion of a number of others, including the completion of an integrated infrastructure project in the chemical zone with an estimated value of about 732 million Syrian pounds.

He added that, a residential building project is being completed in the residential area and is currently on the structure at an estimated cost of 315 million Syrian pounds, consisting of six floors and each floor has six apartments.

A number of investors emphasized the importance of continuing work and production and increasing it in their facilities in Hassia city in a way that secures the needs of the local market, praising the facilities granted to investors. 

Eng. Taghreed Shahem, Executive and Administrative Director at Shepton Company specialized in producing panels and alternative energies cells, pointed out that the company was established three years ago despite the circumstances of the crisis and the difficult challenges and it is working on the production of energy panels or photovoltaics completely.

She pointed out that, there is a need to develop and expand the production process to serve the comprehensive development process, support local production and dispense the import.
