Chairman of the Arab Writers Union: Our participation in the elections will contribute to eliminating what remains of terrorism
On May 3rd, Chairman of the Union of Arab Writers Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani said that the participation of the Syrian people in the elections would contribute significantly to confronting the war that was launched against Syria and eliminating the remaining terrorist outposts in various Syrian geographies.
Al-Hourani , who is the author of the book “Masks of Despotism and the Crisis of Modernization in the Arab World” said: “ When we are fighting a war for ten years or more, this does not mean that we are fighting terrorism as terrorist groups that carry weapons only, but also in the cultural, economic and constitutional fields, and in some way the presidential elections come within them.”
Regarding conducting the presidential elections on time, Al-Hourani, who specialized in modern Syrian history said that the implementation of these elections at the specified time indicate that the terrorist war that was launched against Syria has not been able to eliminate institutional work.
Al-Hourani , who is the author of the book “The Role of Israel and Its Allies in the Arab Spring Revolutions, Syria is a Model” talked about a book published in the United States of America that dealt with the elections that take place in America. The book says that money can buy the democracy.
